The Portland harbor exports the largest volume of wheat in the United States. The Columbia River is the third largest grain exporting center in the world. The Port of Portland is also the largest auto import gateway on the US West Coast. Additionally, the Port is the 16th largest container port in the United States and the 4th largest port on the West Coast for export tonnage.

More than 1,000 businesses in Oregon and Washington use the Port's marine facilities, which are served by a network of interstate freeways, Union Pacific BNSF railway, and the Columbia/Snake river barge system.

  • T-2: 49 acres; breakbulk, Ro-Ro, and project cargoes
  • T-4: 280 acres; mineral bulks, autos, liquid bulks
  • T-5: 159 acres; grain, mineral bulks, warehouse/manufacturing
  • T-6: 386 acres; containers, autos, intermodal rail yard operations
