The Mulino Airport is now under the ownership of the Oregon Department of Aviation (ODA). Please follow the link at the bottom of the page to ODA’s Web site for current information about the Mulino Airport.
Since acquiring the Mulino Airport in 1988, the Port of Portland constructed a 3,425-foot paved runway, a paved parallel taxiway, and paved aircraft parking ramps. In 2007 the Oregon Department of Aviation and the Port of Portland entered into a Management and Transfer Agreement for the airport. Since February of 2007 the ODA has been operating the Mulino Airport on behalf of the Port of Portland.
Since the initiation of the Management and Transfer Agreement in 2007, the Port and ODA have worked closely together to accomplish many improvements at the Mulino Airport. These improvements include the installation of a new self-service card lock fueling system; completion of an airport Master Plan Update; construction of two rows of T-Hangars; and the establishment of a Fixed Base Operator (FBO). These changes are expected to enhance the Mulino Airport’s continued service as a reliever airport for the greater Portland Metro area aviation community. All of these improvements combined with ODA’s operating structure and its ability to combine resources with the nearby state-owned Aurora Airport, properly positioned the Mulino Airport for transfer of ownership. With completion of the airport transfer to the Oregon Department of Aviation, the users and tenants of the Mulino Airport can expect to see continued growth and enhancement.
