FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PORTLAND, ORE. (May 15, 2009) – CAPERS CAFÉ CHRISTENS WINE
BAR, CELEBRATES EXPANSION
Capers Café, a popular eatery at Portland
International Airport, is celebrating a recent remodel and transformation of
its airport restaurant.
The expansion includes a handsome new
wine bar, tables and chairs for newly added sit-down service, and terrazzo
flooring. The wine bar offers some 22 wines by the glass and about 30 by the
bottle, with labels from Oregon, Washington, California, France, Argentina,
Chile, Italy and Spain. Travelers can purchase corked bottles of wine to take
on the airplane or to mail. The restaurant menu still includes a wide array of
soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, quiches, pizza, pastries and more.
Christian and Annette Joly own the
restaurant, as well as two other restaurants in Portland. Christian Joly said,
“We’re offering the same counter service as before, but now our customers also
have the option of being seated at a table, making their choices from a menu,
and then just sitting back, relaxing and enjoying our first class service.”
Chris Madsen, general manager of business
and properties with the Port of Portland, said, “We congratulate Capers on
their wonderful new look and enhanced service for travelers. It’s a great sign
that this business is expanding. And we love it that Capers is locally born and
bred. Its Portland flavor contributes to the airport’s unique Northwest
personality – it’s what so many customers tell us they love about PDX.”
