PORTLAND, ORE. (October 26, 2012) – PDX Unveils Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Electric vehicle charging stations are now available at Portland International Airport.

The Level 2 stations, located in the short-term parking garage, and also available to customers using Gold Key Valet parking, are provided at no additional cost.

Electric vehicle charging stations are now available at Portland International Airport.

Six charging stations are located on the fourth floor of the garage near the south skybridge that connects to the airport terminal building. Two charging stations are available for valet customers, and valet staff will perform the charge.

“The charging stations help us reduce carbon emissions, and support the growing trend of electric vehicles, as we provide our customers with a wide range of transportation options,” said Michael Huggins, PDX landside operations manager for the Port of Portland.

The Port also uses two charging stations for its two electric vehicles, and continues to grow the number of alternatively fueled vehicles in the Port fleet. Currently, 24 percent of the fleet are power by electric, compressed natural gas, flex-fuel or hybrid systems.
