14, 2012) – Port Announces New CFO

Port of
Portland Executive Director Bill Wyatt has selected marine and aviation finance
veteran Cindy Nichol as the Port’s new chief financial officer. She will
replace Vince Granato who is now serving as the Port’s chief operating officer.
Nichol
comes to the Port from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), where she has
served as finance director since 2008, and was responsible for accounting,
budget, risk management, capital finance and financial planning and analysis.

couldn’t be more pleased to add someone of Cindy’s caliber to our management
team,” said Wyatt. “She brings a wealth of experience in airport and seaport
financial planning and economic analysis, from both the airport management and
consulting perspectives that will serve the Port well as we address the
challenges and opportunities of the changing global marketplace.”
Nichol
began her career at the Massachusetts Port Authority, where she worked on debt
issuance, budgeting, revenue enhancement and rate-setting for Massport’s
airport, seaport, real estate, and bridge facilities.
Before
joining SFO, Nichol was a consultant with Leigh Fisher Associates, which became
Jacobs Consultancy, where she led the firm’s business and finance practice and
worked for more than 17 airport operators and multi-purpose port authorities,
including the Port of Portland. Prior to joining Leigh Fisher, she was vice
president of a transportation consulting firm, Apogee Research, in
Washington, D.C.
Nichol
has a B.A. in history from Carleton College, a Master in African Studies from
the University of London, and a Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School
of Government at Harvard University.
She will join the Port on April 16.
