FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PORTLAND, ORE. (March 14, 2012) – Port Announces New CFO

Cindy Nichol

Port of Portland Executive Director Bill Wyatt has selected marine and aviation finance veteran Cindy Nichol as the Port’s new chief financial officer. She will replace Vince Granato who is now serving as the Port’s chief operating officer.

Nichol comes to the Port from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), where she has served as finance director since 2008, and was responsible for accounting, budget, risk management, capital finance and financial planning and analysis.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to add someone of Cindy’s caliber to our management team,” said Wyatt.  “She brings a wealth of experience in airport and seaport financial planning and economic analysis, from both the airport management and consulting perspectives that will serve the Port well as we address the challenges and opportunities of the changing global marketplace.”

Nichol began her career at the Massachusetts Port Authority, where she worked on debt issuance, budgeting, revenue enhancement and rate-setting for Massport’s airport, seaport, real estate, and bridge facilities.

Before joining SFO, Nichol was a consultant with Leigh Fisher Associates, which became Jacobs Consultancy, where she led the firm’s business and finance practice and worked for more than 17 airport operators and multi-purpose port authorities, including the Port of Portland.  Prior to joining Leigh Fisher, she was vice president of a transportation consulting firm, Apogee Research, in Washington, D.C.

Nichol has a B.A. in history from Carleton College, a Master in African Studies from the University of London, and a Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

She will join the Port on April 16.
