PORTLAND,
ORE. (September 28, 2012) – Port Hosts Community Forum Following Hillsboro
Airport Issues Roundtable Meeting on Oct. 4
The
Hillsboro Airport Issues Roundtable meets from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, in
the cafeteria of the Washington County Public Services Building, 155 N. First
Avenue, Hillsboro. The abridged meeting will focus on revisions to the group’s
bylaws and charter; the meeting agenda is available here. The public is invited and public
comment is welcome.
Following
the HAIR meeting, the Port of Portland will host a Community Forum in the
auditorium from 6-7:30 p.m. Port Executive Director Bill Wyatt will discuss key
issues at the Hillsboro Airport and respond to audience questions.
From
7:30-8:15 p.m. Port technical staff will provide information and address
citizen questions in an open house format. Project-specific information tables
will cover topics relevant to the Hillsboro Airport including land use planning
and compatibility, noise, air quality, water quality, and airport development.
The
Hillsboro Airport Issues Roundtable is a 21-member advisory group to the Port formed
to enhance and facilitate communication among people interested in Hillsboro
Airport. Committee members represent the airport’s diverse stakeholders such as
nearby residents, neighboring businesses, airport tenants and users, and local
jurisdictions.
