spacer Electronics and Film Electronics and Film

Electronic devices including laptops, cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and digital cameras are allowed in your carry-on luggage, as well as your checked luggage.

It is a good idea to attach your name, address and telephone number to your computer. The laptop computer must be taken out of its case and placed on the screening machine belt.

Film
It is advised that you put film in your carry-on baggage, as the checked baggage screening equipment will damage undeveloped film in camera equipment. The x-ray machines at the security checkpoints where your carry-on luggage is scanned will not damage film that is rated under ASA/ISO 800 speed film.

If you do have high speed or specialty film, request that the security screener at the checkpoint hand inspect your film and not put it through the x-ray machine. If you plan to request a hand inspection of your film, please carry your film in clear canisters, or take the film out of solid colored canisters and put it into clear plastic bags, to expedite the screening process.

The screening equipment will not affect digital cameras and electronic image storage cards.
