Condé Nast award goes to Reagan; PDX a VERY close second

After three years in a row of holding the title of Best U.S. Airport, PDX was edged out of the No. 1 spot this year by just two-tenths of one percent. In the annual business travel awards conducted by Condé Nast Traveler magazine, Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., won the top honor for 2009.

“Reagan National is an outstanding airport, and I would like to personally congratulate them on this accomplishment,” said Steve Schreiber, aviation director with the Port of Portland.  “I think this close score also shows that we are considered one of the finest airports in the United States. Travelers consider PDX a safe, efficient and welcoming place. It’s a tribute to everyone who works here.”

Each year, Conde Nast asks its readers who are business travelers to vote for the best domestic and international airports, hotels and airlines.
