2009-0016 Design Services for Hillsboro Airport Runway 12L/30R and Taxiway D

Solicitation Type: Request for Proposal
Description: The Port of Portland (Port) is soliciting proposals from experienced engineering consulting firms to furnish professional design services that will result in a comprehensive design package (drawings and specifications) for constructing a new parallel runway (12L/30R) and supporting taxiway (Taxiway D) at Hillsboro Airport (HIO). This project is estimated to have a construction cost in the range of $9 to $10 million.

Description: The Port of Portland (Port) is soliciting proposals from experienced transportation planning consultants to provide road focused transportation planning services. 2009-0027 Terminal 6 Crane 6378 Temporary Relocation

Solicitation Type: Invitation to Bid
Description: Moving Crane 6378 in two phases to accommodate painting and drive upgrade work on the crane by others. The work of Phase 1 includes moving the crane from its present location at Terminal 6, Berth 604, to a temporary location in the container storage yard downriver from blockhouse 413 at Terminal 6. Phase 1 also includes removal and storage of the trolley rails from the trolley girders aft of the waterside trolley girder support beam. Work by others at the temporary location is anticipated to last approximately 120 days. The work of Phase 2 includes reinstallation and alignment of the trolley rails, and returning the crane to its original location after work by others on the crane is complete. The work of both phases includes securing the crane from movement caused by wind gusts up to 55 mph.

2009-0028 PDX Design Services for the Runway 10R/28L Rehabilitation

Solicitation Type: Request for Proposal
Description: The Port is seeking qualified firms capable of providing professional services for all phases of the work including alternative material and layout analysis, preliminary engineering, final engineering and support during advertisement for bids and construction. Initially, the Port intends to execute a contract that will authorize only the earliest phases of work. This would include the major activities of completing an alternative and life cycle cost analysis using portland cement concrete and asphalt as the paving materials, and evaluating the feasibility and cost of additional scope items, e.g., new and reconfigured exits, Taxiway C West rehabilitation, and removal of grass islands. It is anticipated that this evaluation will be completed by early Fall 2009. Following this phase, and depending on the outcome of the initial effort and funding and resource availability, the Port may choose to amend the contract to authorize remaining services to further complete the design work, leading ultimately to a construction contract award in early 2011.
