On Aug. 23, 2024, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with the Columbia River ports of Portland, Vancouver, Woodland, Kalama, and Longview, released a combined Draft Dredged Material Management Plan / Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for long-term maintenance of the Lower Columbia River Federal Navigation Channel, which extends from the mouth of the Columbia River to Portland. The maintenance plan will ensure the channel is maintained for ships to safely and efficiently navigate for the next 20 years.

The plan will be available for public review and comment through the Corps. For more information about opportunities to review and comment on the DEIS, please visit the Army Corps of Engineers website.

Additional information is available from the Lower Columbia River Ports at www.lcrports.com.
