The Port of Portland is hosting a project open house on March 19, 2025, for the public to learn about and help shape the Portland International Airport (PDX) Master Plan Update, PDX 2045.

PDX 2045 is collaborative plan for how the airport will grow over the next 20 years, and community input is critical to ensuring it accommodates that growth in a way the benefits the people who live and work here.

The open house will be held at McDaniel High School, located at 2735 NE 82nd Avenue in Portland. Attendees are invited to drop in anytime between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. to visit informational stations and talk with the project team. There will be a short presentation provided at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

"The PDX Next investments that we've made over the past decade, including the locally-sourced new terminal, are direct outcomes of our planning work and community input that we've received," said Sean Loughran, Port of Portland Planning and Development Director. "We're proud that we've built an airport that reflects our region, and we're excited to hear the community's perspective on how we can continue this success."

The project is developing a roadmap for providing the space and facilities to serve travelers, as well as neighbors, airport employees, and businesses that operate at or rely on PDX, as air travel grows over the next 20 years.

“PDX is a vital part of our region’s economy, providing thousands of jobs and connecting local people and businesses to the rest of the U.S. and the world,” noted Aaron Ray, Port of Portland Senior Manager, Aviation Long-Range Planning. “PDX 2045 is planning the future of PDX to enable more people to share and drive the prosperity of our region.”

Updating the PDX Master Plan involves forecasting future needs, comparing those needs to current capacity, and analyzing solutions that meet the Port’s commitment to sustainability, resilience, and shared prosperity.

The open house will be held in the cafeteria / commons area at McDaniel High School, which is near the main entrance and accessible to people with limited mobility.

McDaniel High School is served by TriMet line 72 (82nd Avenue).

Can’t make it on March 19? The team will also post information to be shared at the open house on www.pdx2045.org. Visitors to the site will find the latest project news and can sign up to receive email updates, including notices of future meetings and events.
